Default Tektronix 500-series latch part

Hi,

I have a Tektronix FG504 function generator which needs a bit of attention. One niggle is the latch, which has a broken part. This is a black plastic item which is fastened to the front panel by a self-tapping screw just under the latch-pull. The Tek part-number is 105-0719-00 and it is described as "latch, retaining" in the manual.

Is there anyone out there who has a parts-donor plug-in (I don't think it needs to be a FG504; I think this is common to some, but not all TM-series plug-ins) and is prepared to let me have this small part. I am happy to pay a reasonable cost and postage.

TIA, Colin.

Is this identical to the 7000 plug in latches? I can't now remember.

In a word, no. Unfortunately, there are at least two latch designs for the TM500-series, as well. The part that I am looking for is, as I, said, attached to the front panel by a self-tapping screw. There are two other parts; the latch-pull itself (white plastic with "TEKTRONIX" in blue) and an inner part (white plastic). These two just clip together, I believe. There are no springs except the flexibility of the black plastic part involved. I suppose I could post a picture, but the one I can get to is the broken one which I want to replace and the other (good) one is on an SC 502 scope with Tektronix calibration stickers still on; I don't want to invalidate those, even if they did expire in 1998!

Colin.

PS: QService list them, but they are "out of stock". There are pictures, though:

HI

I have one of these on a scrap 500 plugin.

Can send it over to you (if I figure how to remove it)

Peter

Just found 8 way powered rack full of these!

Not Tek, but Metrotek untrasound modules.

Should have everything you need.

Look like genuine Tek frame/case. look like brand new!

Yours for the cost of posting, either the parts you need, or whole plugin.

From your photo, that looks very much like the kind of latch I'm looking for. Of course I can see that the pull doesn't have "Tektronix" on it, as it wasn't made by Tek, but that isn't a problem. The latch on my SC 502 looks pretty much identical, in that the screw holding the black part can't be seen on the front panel, so I assume that the front panel has to be removed to gain access to the screw head. A bit of a nuisance, that. How much would be the postage for a whole plug-in be? It would at least save you the frustration of getting the front panel off.

That sounds reasonable enough. I think I gave you my postal address already. Do you have a PayPal account so that I can send the money by "friends and family", or BACS info?
