Default Grundig video 2000 video recorder no power

Hi all
I have just brought a grundig video 2000 model 1600 recorder which was sold as powering up but winding mechinism not working it arrived in a box with no packing the top lid was lose because two of the clips had been snapped off during shipping so it had been banged around a bit.so I have plugged it in and nothing no power what so ever completely dead.
I have checked the plug and the inline fuse on top of the power transformer but nothing wrong there any ideas where to start looking why there is no power.
Many thanks

Do you have a multimeter to measure the power supply voltages? Also be aware of the RIFA or Frako capacitor used as a filter for the mains AC input. They can pop and produce thick smoke for no apparent reason.

Hi.

I Think I have found the problem, Hermes chucked it that hard during delivery that they cracked the board. Probably beyond repair.

No discussions about the merits of various carriers please. We been there before far too often and far too recently.

Thanks.

That's certainly not beyond repair.

22 tracks to bridge.
Stabilise the crack with super glue.
I like to use stranded PVC covered wire salvidged from CAT5 patch leads.

Bridge between existing component pads where possible, otherwise scrape away some of the green solder-mask and make your own pads.

Some people like to scrape about 5mm either side of the crack and bridge with 10mm of solid tinned copper wire.

Not beyond repair but you'll certainly have to spend a bit of time bridging over those broken traces. CAT5 wire should do the job.

As you say still worth repairing , but also plenty of scrap units around so might be worth salvaging another board if your unable to repair the existing one.

Hi
If I could find another unit for the board that would be brilliant but not finding any anywhere.
