Unknown Pye Transistor Radio

I was given this small Pye transistor radio recently but am having problems identifying it (see photos below) as it doesn't appear to have any model number marked on it anywhere.

It appears to be a 6 transistor set using a mixture of 2SA and NKT series transistors and supports MW, MB (which appears to be MW bandspread) and LW.
It takes a PP7 battery but someone has removed the battery terminals and bodged on wires at some point in the past.

Anybody own one of these or ever come across one and can identify it please?

It's a Pye 1352/A: http://www.service-data.com/section.php/6489/1/1352-a
The 1352 is similar, but uses AF117s in the early stages.

I think the 1352a doesn't have the band spread the 1363 does.

I currently own 2 of these, they are called Pye popliner 1363, both of mine have the marine bands. They also feature the controversial radio Caroline on the tuning scale. Lovely little radios, Regards Poppydog

From the photo I can see a number of those black cased Callins electrolytic capacitors. I would replace those on sight without question. Is that orange cased electrolytic (C34) a Callins as well?

I've done a bit of research based on what you've all said and I can confirm it's definitely a 1363 but it's missing its leather case. It's a but tatty but I think I'll spend a bit of time getting it up and running and looking a bit more presentable.

Simon, I've never come across the Callins electrolytics before but I'll bear in mind what you've said about them!

I came across them more in TV's 40 years ago, they were not that reliable after a short service life.

The presence of "Caroline" on the dial dates the set fairly accurately to the early days of that station. Setmakers were soon warned that marking the positions of unauthorised broadcasters could be construed as aiding and abetting criminals .....

Radio Caroline is marked on the Bandspread Dial of a Perdio 'Caralux' (where did they get that name!!) dating from 1966, according to the service sheet, which I'm currently in the process of servicing. That's two years since they started broadcasting.

Just took it apart and unfortunately the combined On/Off Switch/Volume Control is mangled and falling apart!

So, I guess it'll have to be consigned to the spares pile as I've got too many other projects on the go to spend time on it. At least the 2SA73 and two 2SA72 transistors could maybe be used as AF11x replacements in other sets I'm working on.

Try a wanted, someone may have one, or a scrappier scrapper!

Having Caroline on the dial makes it a lot more rare and desirable, it is worth reparing.

I am sure I have something similar which is in poor cosmetic condition and not working but I can dig it out and check the controls if you think it might be able to yield some bits to get yours up and running?
