Default B&O MX1500 resets colour to 0

Hi all.

I have a B&O MX1500 which resets its colour settings. Does anyone know what would cause this?

I think these are PHILIPS CP90 chassis so I guess there is a battery back-up

Even if the battery is in working order, if it has been empty some settngs are lost.

Hi
Quite right. Change the battery - hopefully there's no PCB damage - clean with Fluxclene or isopropyl if there's any leakage. Usual warning - this involves soldering and there are parts of the TV that hold a substantial charge. No offence meant if you're well aware of this and are quite able to do the job!
The battery is a 2.4V NiCad AA size (solder tab) though there are equivalents available. When it's fitted you need to reset the controls. Set the volume, colour and brightness, then open memory (digit flashes), press PP on the remote (not sure what it is on a B&O but it's the one you use to reset the controls to normal) then close memory (diamond). That will store the settings in memory.

Thanks for the replies. I assumed it was the battery. Have changed it, but still will not save the settings. Had to run a few jumper wires to the connection points but all checks out fine on the diagram.

How do I reset it to make the settings saved? I've never worked on a B&O before so this is new territory to me.

I have the remote without the screen on it, if that helps.

Just got back from the workshop. Managed to suss it out. Pressed the store button a few times and the rest of the buttons on the remote! They're saved so I'm chuffed. Thanks all.

I'm currently experimenting with rechargeable Nicad cells in place of the original battery.

Hi. It was originally a rechargeable NiCd battery - a NiMH will also work there.
Glad you've got it going.
