Default What brand is this video remote IR receiver module?

This infra red receiver module plugs into the front underside edge of either a Philips or a Grundig video machine. I can't remember which?

Do you remember the model number of the VCR?

Judging by the 12-digit part number, I'd say Philips.

Thanks for your input so far guys, I'll wait until there's a consensus. I'm going to be selling it, and I don't want to mislead a potential buyer.

Hmm. With the greatest respect you talk as if I owned just one VCR! I've owned - and still do - dozens of VCRs of all formats and a box full of odd remotes etc. If I knew the model number of "the set", I'd know the brand! But thanks.

Oooerrr lol. Philips and definitely around the vr2020 range of machines. Possibly google some images of the machines and you may come across an image of one with it fitted? If I wasn't at work I'd have a nosey myself.

Thanks very much gentleman, it is definitely for use with a Philips first generation (larger size) V2000 machine.

I'm done moderators? Thanks.

It is indeed from a VR 2020 which featured a removable remote sensor!

VR2020, VR2021, VR2022. Will also fit VR2023 and VR2024. For at least the VR2020 and possibly the VR2021 and VR2022, an additional decoder is needed which can be fitted to the rear of the recorder.

The VR2022 certainly needs the external decoder module (which plugs into a 4 pin DIN socket on the back of the machine). The IR receiver output goes to a pin on that socket only (it does not feed any other device in the machine). I assume that the decoder contains a microcontroller of some flavour.
