TV Stand identification
Overall width 25.75inches, peg to holes 23.6inches X 4.75- 5.25inches. There is a removable strip of teak veneer on the "Front" Anyone know what brand of TV it belongs?. Its very similar to the Philips G8 stand I have.

Re: TV Stand identification
That's so familiar! I think it might be from a Thorn of the TX era. I think all the Philips stands used four screws, not two pegs and two screws.
I'm very likely wrong though! Glyn |

Re: TV Stand identification
I think it's from a GEC/Hitachi as I do recall them having two pins and two screws. Norman

Re: TV Stand identification
Just checked my G8 and yes 4 screws. Just had a look at my Ferguson TX catalogue and they have solid wood or metal crossbars, possible later model? This stands crossbar has a strip of wood slid into a slot before the stand is assembled. GEC, Hitachi ? I will wait for others to comment.

Re: TV Stand identification
Hi,
The two opposing securing lugs make me think that this is possibly a later Philips FST set, it certainly looks like it would fit a Dynatron 106 or 107, I believe these carried the 2A chassis Regards Stu |

Re: TV Stand identification
...but wouldn't later stands be equipped with a shelf for a video or satellite receiver, and be "charcoal black" as opposed to faux wood?

Re: TV Stand identification
It's a typical 1980s TV stand but I must confess it's like non of the stands that were supplied with the sets I used to sell and rent during that era. So it's not Thorn, Decca, Rank-Bush-Murphy, Rediffusion/Doric, or GEC. Note the two locating dowel pins, only two screws required to attach the stand to the cabinet base.
And yet somehow I kinda remember assembling this type of stand. Philips? Fitted to certain K40 models maybe. Ref. to post #8 DFWB. |

Re: TV Stand identification
It could possibly be B&O. It's similar to the dedicated stand supplied with the Beovision 7802 that I bought in 1984, although that had a plain metal crossbar.
I still have the stand somewhere; I thought that it might make a little mobile coffee table, but like so many things I never got round to it. Roger |

Re: TV Stand identification
Proops emporium in London's Edgware Road were selling off bases similar to these in two sizes in the 1980's, from memory at around £1.50 each. I bought several and did use them to make coffee tables for various relatives! I still have two, a smaller one in black and a larger one in chrome with a wood effect crossbar, which we are still using. All have 4-hole fixings for bolts (no lugs) and, unlike the stand in #11, are symmetrical.

Re: TV Stand identification
Hi
This stand is definitely from a Philips k30 series set . We were Philips dealers and I remember the plastic veneer strip that slotted along the crossbar. Regards. Gary. |

Re: TV Stand identification
Which model is it for?
I remember assembling and fitting these. ISTR that the slide in veneer strip was double sided and the side left facing outwards matched the veneer colour of the TV. Michael. |

Re: TV Stand identification
I think it may be the stand for this PYE K30 22" model in Fablon covered cabinet. John.

The colour of the wood strip looks the same as your set.

Re: TV Stand identification
I have a 22 inch Philips K35 (Co-op) badged. It uses the same stand, Malc.
