I don't remember what brand the radio was - except that it wasn't the standard-fit Ford offering (which only did MW/LW). |

Our local emporium has recently sold a long/low 1960s McMichael Stereogram. I did take a close look some months ago, but can't recall the model number now.
I'm sure that the last marking on the VHF scale was an optimistic 110MHz. |

Most of the German makes covered to 108MHz from the start, certainly the Grundig 'Boy' transistor sets do. |

Ford UK switched from Plessey to Blaupunkt as their car radio supplier circa 1970.

Re: When Did The 88-108 FM Band Become The Norm ?
Ford certainly used Blaupunkt in 1980/81 as my 1980 Fiesta had the optional RST21P radio cassette manufactured by Philips. I had two of these which both had faults and were eventually replaced in 1981 by a Blaupunkt unit which also had faults. However the units fitted were only LW/MW as I couldn't afford the Ford prices for the VHF version at the time.
