Default Sanyo Betacord VTC 5000

Hi all

I acquired this machine today and the heads seemed a bit dirty. So I gave them a bit of a clean with an alcohol soaked cloth, which has often been successful in the past with other machines. Sure enough the heads are now clean, but my tapes are all playing too fast! They are playing at somewhere between 130-150% of normal speed. It was fine before I cleaned the heads. Might I have dislodges something??

Thanks

Hi
Nice to have you on the forum, did you also clean the audio control head as well as the video heads , are all the wires in place on the audio control head > this head is a fixed head to the right of the video heads . Hope these suggestion might help .
regards Derrick
