Default Tv62

one of my purchases at birmingham was a nice looking tv62 well on the outside!
I decided i would have a look this sundy just gone .oh no the reciever shasis
had been painted sometime ago over the rust and all the wiring was rubber and falling to pieces. but i still wanted to see a picture on the set so started replacing all the waxies i then replaced the wiring this took most of the time
i then had to replace all the electrolitics as thay bulged and looked sick.
then all the controls on the back checked os so out thay came luckily i had a scrap tv56 then i aplied the power thing glowed and the old line wistle appared but that was it then buzzing noises from the scan coils this varied with the brightnes control so i disconnected the grid connection from the tube this stopped the buzzing noise their was no other life than this!.
but what i should have disconnected was the eht because i soon realised the tube had air in it. so in with the old tv56 tube then no buzzing but still no raster oops i hadnt checked the replacement tube but after checking it was relieved to find good emmision connected the grid and cathode leads together and still no raster so i checked the eht at the anode 3kv oh no .
the ey was well alight and good spark at the line output bottle but poor spark at the overwind. so in went the spare lopt . i now had a raster with low hight
i then decided to tackle the loss of signals i removed one of the cans on the tuner valves ah ha the valve looked milky i also changed an EF80 i didnt like the look of then i had a picture with low hight more tinkering soon found a couple of resistors that had gone high. the sound is distorted due to the loud speaker but i had already used that from the old worm eaten tv56 so i will have to find one later .
was it worth it?

Well done Danny - Yep, well worth it in my opinion - as you now have what looks like a reasonable picture for a set that age.
Just as well you had a spare suitable tube though - Duffo L O/P-TX or tube can usually put a major "crimp" in such projects.
