Smile Re: Revox G36 tape counter and L/hand tape guide needed

I've just joined this forum so forgive me if I appear to have lost the plot!

In the A77, the five buttons on the left REW FF PLAY STOP REC do not physically latch but are electronically latched through the three relays. The two record buttons beside the VU meters DO latch, if one of them doesn't its fairly simple to replace it.

I've just switched my A77 on and the VU meters do flick over briefly twice. This is nothing to worry about, its just the capacitors in the amplifier stage building up charge.

The bulbs, apart from the End Of Tape bulb is powered by the unregulated 27V. This supply is also used to power the three control relays. Aes its unregulated a slight dimming may be seen as extra power is drawn to power these relays.

Does the A77 function correctly in all other respects? If so, may I suggest you leave well alone. As they say, If it aint broke, dont fix it!

Colin, where in London do you live?

I hope this helps.

Michael

Hi R2R man

Yes - still looking - let me know if one turns up! Also looking for one for a Uher 4200 report monitor (horizontal digits and round push button unlike the older series)
