Default Akai mono reel to reel

Hi everyone,
I have an Akai mono valve reel to reel at home and the little rubber caps that sit on the spindles and spring against the reels to stop them falling off when the player is standing vertical are worn and they just fall off......then the reels fall off Does anyone in the forum no a way of repairing them as I really want to use the player standing vertically as it looks better than lying flat on it's back.

Thanks everyone

Lee

Not sure about repairing the originals you have , But you could try getting hold of some rubber door stops and cutting them down to size. It has been done and may help until something turns up. Out of curiousity ,What model is it? Peter {Reelguy}

Hi Reelguy,
Not sure of the model, I have the original Akai manual in japanese and english. I will have a look tonight and let you know tomorrow as I don't have a computer at home.

Thanks for the idea on the caps though
