Default Sun Electronics 1115 Engine Analyser

This is my Sun 1115 analyser dating from the late 70's. It was refurbished by an ex Sun engineer in the states who I bought it from a couple of years ago. I have a few old cars running conventional points ignition and I have used an older Sun machine in the past so have always wanted a good working unit.

Apart from the gas analyser not working (CO and HC gauges are just bouncing around, impossible to calibrate, I would like to resolve this if possible at some point) everything else has been working fine until earlier this year when the timing light stopped working. I'm having the boards checked by a forum member, hopefully it's just a simple component failure. However if anyone has specific knowledge of this type of equipment it would be good to learn a bit more about it's inner workings and how to keep it working properly.
