Hi, yes I'd agree with that. 15 watts seems likely but they could be 25 watt. They do look over engineered for such a low power but the technology wasn't so good with thermal handling in the speech coils back then.
I have a pair of those 12 inch Wharfedale bass drivers as seen in the W2 cabs and they don't like much power. The research I did on them suggested they were only rated at 15 watts. They have a rubber roll surround aswell so play lower in the bass.

Have you tried them to see how they sound ?

David.

Tried them david yes, they sound fine, low obviously as no mid or high in the cabinets. But sound as they should

You could probably sell them to a vintage enthusiast as the cones are good and they have the more desirable alnico magnets.
I've been carrying various drivers around with me through house moves as I find it difficult to part with them. I added another Goodmans 18 inch just last christmas.
Oddly enough, I saw a rare Baker 12 inch sold on christmas morning for a bit over £200! It was quite a rare one and the cone was in a very poor state.

Yes easier to post a chassis but if you do put them on the usual auction sites then show them as found incase anyone wants the cabs aswell.
The later models with the ceramic magnet don't make much at all. A recent Group 25 watt going for just £10.

Always a difficult one with something like this. As has been said many times, if you want the best price you need to go to auction and just decide the minimum you would accept and make that your starting price.

To be fair, I'm sure most of us on the forum are always looking for a bargain and have often picked things up for peanuts or even free so if you put them on here just decide your lowest price and add a little bit. You can always come down if you get no takers.

Hope that sounds fair ?

Well that's probably about right for the condition and the vintage.
I would say no more if you are going to offer them and would also ask the MODs to feel free to delete our discussion of this if it doesn't comply with the forum rules.

Edit: missed your post as to description. Just put Baker speakers as discussed in this post with a link to this thread.
David.

No problem asking questions. We get many newcomers who we advise to do just that, when they don't know where to pitch their unwanted items.
