Default HMV H.C.6.B fan heater to strip

picked this up at the weekend from local recycle shelf

sadly painted black and missing its lamp switch from the front

has anyone tried striping one of these ? if so how

also is there a suitable switch that will fit in the front ?

used standard paint striper it removed the black but would not touch the original finish so will have to flatten dry
