I'll read it properly later on, but Sound On Sound have done some excellent articles about BBC matters. It helps that they have Hugh Robjohns on their staff.

Here's one that I've read in the past and would recommend to anyone interested in operation audio: https://www.soundonsound.com/techniq...-radio-3s-tune

I've only skimmed through but very good, being a Doctor Who fan makes it a very interesting read.

A few years ago there was a very good documentary on BBC4 about the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, which I think I've still got a copy of.

Alchemists of Sound, first broadcast BBC2. Narrated by Oliver Postgate.

The definitive tv docu on the workshop IMHO.

Not currently on iplayer but from various other sources.

Yes that's the one, How Do They Do That also had a feature on the BBC Radiophonic Workshop IIRC.

I also have the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, A Retrospective, a 2 CD compilation of some of their more well known output.

Thanks very much for posting that Guy. I've got most of the Radio/TV programs but that article passed me by. It's so good with all the photographs I've printed out the whole thing for easy reading

One of those things where we'll never see it's like again. Must have been great fun.
