"MURPHY DAY" at the Mill Green Museum
Hi All,
Just a short reminder that on Sunday 19th September we will once again, be holding "MURPHY DAY" at the Mill Green Museum. Mill green Museum is a working watermill where you can see flour being ground. Bush Hall Lane Hatfield, Herts AL9 5PD 01707 271 362 We will be having our usual display of all things "Murphy" there for the afternoon from 2pm onwards. This year's theme is the designs of James Reeve who not only designed the radio and television recceivers, but was also instrumental in many of the catalogue and pamphlet designs from the late 1940s through to the 1970's. There will be working 405 line TV's and radiograms running all afternoon. As an added bonus, there will also be a Gardening/ allotment exhibition on at the same time. There is always plenty of tea and cake to be had, so don't miss a splendid vintage afternoon. See their website here: http://www.welhat.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=722 Hope to see lots of you there, Mike...

Sounds interesting, is it only domestic sets on show?
Rob.

Nice little display there including the Murphy Acoustic Deluxe televisions, a style icon of their day which featured the Rank A640 dual standard chassis. Unfortunately our stay was limited by the fact that I had to work later on that afternoon but nice to bump into a couple of familiar faces.
Dr Watts has some photos to post - come on Dave
