Default ICE(Milan) Supertester 680R multi-meter

This analogue meter was a car boot purchase, sold as not working - the meter needle was stuck at zero - but not bent. I bought it as I already have a working example.

I took it apart carefully and after a lot of puzzling found that the barrel magnet had been slightly dislodged (dropped I assume) and the coil former was catching on it. By applying a few gentle taps using non-metallic tools I have got the meter movement to move generally - but not completely - freely. Applying 10 uA to the movement contacts produces about the expected movement so things are nearly there.

Now, in the process I had to ease off the movement bearings and so have been experimenting with how much to tighten them up again, as well as the relative heights of the bearings with respect to the magnet holder. But I still cannot get a perfectly free movement.

At this point I thought I'd better ask for advice, as dealing with meter movements is not my speciality !
