Default Marconi 2955 LCD Mod

Hi all,

A few years back I bought Kevin Jardine's LCD mod board for my 2955 as a 'just in case' if the CRT / LOPT failed. Earlier this year the LOPT did fail, probably due to condensation forming while the shack was unheated. So out came the CRT and in went the LCD. And I was very pleased with the result. At the same time the screen bezel was sprayed black, all the LEDs were changed and a new 5mm perspex screen protector was fitted as the old one was sightly damaged. I also fitted a new OCXO distribution board. Maybe should have changed the PSU caps too?

I just need to fit the enhanced VGA and memory blanking add-on boards now. The latter removes any stray characters which appear on the screen. And yes, that is the kitchen table in the photo!!

So all is not lost if the CRT / LOPT / video board fails. Full details are on the Marconi-Test-Instruments .io group.
