Hi everyone,
I have just purchased a HMV Stereomaster 2328 but missing so knobs. Would anyone know where I could get spares? Also, doesn’t appear to have aerial for radio. Thanks in advance |

This item dates from the mid-1960s and the original manufacturer is no longer in existence.
I suggest you post a wanted ad in the relevant section of this forum. This thread may help identify the knobs: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=187651 Here's a photo from the HMV brochure for the 2026, which is the same as the 2328, but without VHF/FM radio. The photo of the 2026 shows the knobs better than that of the 2328. The 2328 will probably have a built-in VHF/FM radio aerial, which is plugged into the radio aerial socket the the rear of the unit. If it does have this, it can be unplugged to connect an external VHF radio aerial if required. Note that the radio part of the 2328 uses two AF116 Germanium transistors, which suffer from "tin whiskers syndrome" and that may be stopping the radio part from working at all. I have a HMV Stereomaster 2328. Here are some photos of one of the knobs. I don't have any spare ones, unfortunately, but somebody on the forum could well have.
The diameter is 30mm Projection of the boss from the underside is 12mm. |

If no luck with a 'wanted' ad, I could probably cast the knobs in resin from an original. The metal parts are more difficult, but doable. It depends what tools you have.
