Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Don't know how I missed this, as I get the Lidl flyer every week.
I must have a toddle up to town, where there are two stores and wend my way back via another one, as I've often found the third store has much slower-moving stock. There's a good chance one of the three will have some left.

Hi Dave, so you got three Lidl stores, how very fortunate for you.

In Lidl they have what is called the center isle, this is where all the strange stuff is found, strange in the sense there is no rhyme or reason why say there might be multimeters in a bin there one week and the next week that same bin has got support stockings in LOL |

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Don’t forget they don’t stock these items all the time. They are “special offers” that are only available while stocks last. Look at their weekly brochures and get a “feel” for this weeks products.
Last week they had Canon inkjet printers for £19.99. But only for a few days - when it’s gone it’s gone, so you need to be quick. |

Aldi is the same.
I bought a real drill press at out local branch and have never seen them again however there were full size band saws there a few weeks ago. |

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Apparently the main reason for the random stuff in the centre isles is to get punters to slow down and just look, if nothing else.
It's not intended to be nice to shoppers. It's because shoppers then slow their pace and buy more stuff from the other isles. All down to psychology - apparently. Source: BBC Radio 4 - so it must be true. |

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Hi Gents, yes agree with the above, I only go in to see what they have, but I've had some good stuff over the years.
Croc clips etc still available at the Swalwell branch. Ed |

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
I'm the other way round going to Lidl 2 or 3 times a week for most of my food shopping and cleaning products, etc - excellent quality and prices and what's in The Middle is an added bonus.

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Medion are/were made by the same company as Packard Bell, Advent, eMachines and other store PC brands. Perfectly reasonable for what they are, but it almost certainly isn't a re-badged Toshiba.

When the Lidl chain started opening branches here, they were so undercutting the local supermarkets it was worth my while to travel nearly 40 miles to the nearest one, once a month. Since a local Aldi opened in 2013, I've hardly set foot in a Lidl.

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Our local Aldi has got modest portable generators stacked to the roof this week.
However they will be shut at the end of the month for a week for refurbishment. The builders are already there and doing what they do best so only half of the car park is usable. |

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
This weeks adverts from Aldi show a Medion laptop and include the maker as 'A Lenovo Company' - that's not to say it always was them.

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
Yes the website says it is now owned by Lenovo, so hopefully the products will be decent quality https://www.medion.com/gb/index.html
Although online reviews suggest otherwise https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.medion.co.uk According to Wikipedia they have been owned by Lenovo since August 2011 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medion |

Re: Croc Clips at Lidl
In the Netherlands, Lenovo started using the Medion service organisation. I've had to deal with them in 2016 or 2017 and it was quite the experience. No ticketing system, very slow service, no flexible solutions but in the end a quite reasonable refund which only went through because I happened to be a customer at the distributor that once sold the laptop to the (then closed down) shop where it was retailed originally.
