A 600 ohm secondary on the output transformer is fine, these were fitted on very late models, which ties up with the date on your smoothing can

The most important characteristic of the output transformer is the turns ratio.

The same number of turns on the primary winding but with a different thickness of wire will give a different winding resistance. The transformer will still work correctly.

The 'ground' terminal of the volume control does not connect directly to chassis.
It is connected to the cathode of V2 and V3.
Silicon is offline
