Its worth what someone is willing to pay for it. best bet would be eBay and see how it does

An Akai Video Recorder VS- 5EK sold for £30 on Ebay in June. It is also a top loading VHS machine.

We do have a couple of Greek VCR enthusiasts amongst our number. They will be better positioned to answer your query when they notice this.

Hi. Have you tested it? It appears to be in really nice condition. Might be worth something to a collector.

Re: AKAI-VS-9700EG value.
Hi
In my personal opinion your friend has to options the first is to sell it on ebay, the second is to keep it stored and check if he can sell it in better price in future . Greece vintage electronics market is low interest from buyers especially with VCRs. Most of collectors collect other items (such as valve radios, vinyl etc) because servicing a VCR and other vintage equipment is very difficult for them. Most of vintage equipment from 80s and 90s was gone to rubbish in the 20s As the result of this the price is very low in Greece. Maybe in the future VCR machines in Greece be more interesting. |
