I think the number is 'GS-4A'.

A google search for 'GS-4A tube' led me to an applications note which implies it is a gas-filled indicator tube (strictly 'Nixie tube' is a trademark) but with symbols like '+', '-', 'V', 'A' etc rather than digits

Hi Al, a quick and dirty way of seeing what it is is to apply 200V DC through 100K to pairs of electrodes in turn and see what lights up
