Default TL783CKCS higher current?

Hello i have been using these devices in a few projects with complete success, but i need one that is higher currant more than 700ma maybe about 1.5 amps, does anyone know if such a device exists?

Gary, can you use it with a series pass transistor like TIP47 or similar? (Actually something beefier, on reflection, but a suitable series pass device? )

Hello AL
Thanks for your advice, I have just found an LM317HVT which fits the job it is a 1.5amp regulator with max input of 60v DC.

Going back to Astral's reply- why not just a divider ( resistor /Zener diode) , feeding a series pass transistor. Similar to a three terminal device, but capable of a lot higher current, if the right transistor is used.
