Default Racal Dana 9081 Signal Generator valuation required

Hi,
Can anybody tell me what a fair price for one of these in working condition would be ?

Thanks,
Andy

A search yields an example listed for £75 in 2018 as 'unsold'.
Another is shown as having been sold by VRF member (PETERg0rsq) but there are no price details.
Best wishes
Guy

Hi Guy,
Thanks for that helpful information, you've had more success with your search than I did !

Regards,
Andy

I sold one of these 5 years ago for £75 in good working order. The tantalum capacitors fail fairly often. Power supply decouplers blowing fuses!

Hi Peter,
Thanks for that additional information - yes, I'd read about the tantalum capacitor issues with these so worth watching out for !

A reasonably comprehensive sig gen, and likely to be very useful in working order. Shouldn't be too terrible to get and keep going, but in working order you wonder when the next bead tant will go.

It doesn't have the low noise credentials of the HP8640, but then it doesn't have cracking-up plastic gears and switches. The Marconi 2002 and 2008 aren't synthesised or counter locked.

£75 sounds like a fair price for a working one. None working ones, a fraction of that

Thanks everyone for your replies.
I've come to an arrangement with the seller (it's part of a SK sale) and using the information posted here, we've come up with a mutually acceptable price.
So I'll be picking it up on my way to the supermarket to do my weekly shopping.
