Default Keeping your Technika STBHDIS2010 Freeview Box alive

This FreeView box (sold at Tesco) was just about the best unit sold for using a CRT TV and VCR.

If anyone here is still using one and wants to keep it alive here are some hints.

No power despite being connected to mains:
Change the 22uF capacitor on primary side of the PSU

Glitches and random errors:
Change all capacitors on secondary motherboard. These dry out completely.

Display cannot be read:
This is a cold cathode display and the digits fade. Original was blue numbers but one with red digits is available on eBay (much easier to read) as part number KYX-3461AS.

Please note that desoldering is tricky on all PCB's due to the ground plane so a 0.8mm drill to clean out the holes will make your life much easier.

Hope this helps someone here save their box.
