Default Australian radio auction

I thought members might be interested to browse the radios to be auctioned in Melbourne this weekend.

Some stunning radios there . I rather like the console with the swivel base.

Yes indeed. Lots of US catalin radios, but plenty of Australian classics too.

Australian and American radios are often more flamboyant . British sets sometimes have too much restraint
I like the use of contrasting plastic , often just a brown set with white trim looks lovelly

WOW - They're just stunning. I'd happily dump all of my existing sets for one of those green marbley tombstomes.
What a boring lot 20th c. Joe public were when it came to accepting racey design !

Mmmmmm.

Anything but a Peewee or La Gloria at the lower end of its estimate would bankrupt me!

Could fancy a Philips Meteor though.

This is an extremely serious collection. An indication of its high status is given by the inclusion of the Zenith Radio Nurse (lot 121), these are impossible to obtain in the USA let alone anywhere else.

Wow.
The missus says I can get rid of all my stuff and keep all those Aussie and US sets in the house, only problem though is the cash!
