An advert for the Marconiphone Company but what is wrong with it? John.

I’m no valve expert, but have they got the valves mixed up?! Surely the U12 is the top one?

Regards

Methinks the valves are the wrong way round.

I was too stunned by the price to notice the anomaly. 25 shillings must have been a considerable amount of money in 1930.

One pound in 1930 equates to £65 today. 5 shillings is a quarter of a pound so £65 plus £16.25. so about £81.25 in today's money.

I think your all correct..! Very unusual to make such a mistake especially in the Wireless World and a full page ad too. I wonder if anyone including Marconiphone noticed it? John.

The plate was probably provided by Marconi's advertising dept. and just used as provided by WW's printers.

Compared with the standard of some of the pages in the likes of the current RS catalogue it's pretty good!

I think it's the codepage your browser uses Bill. It worked splendidly on Chrome and Edge
