What's the difference Philips EL3300 and 3301?
Are there any difference between these models as far as the looks is concerned? How about what's inside? Are the models/model number printed on these machine?

Re: What's the difference Philips EL3300 and 3301?
The first and obvious major difference between the EL3300 & the EL3301 is that the EL3300 does not have an anti record/erasure mechanism, nor did the 'Cartridge' (Cassette tape, the EL1903), it was supplied with.
Also the casing of the EL3300 was a chocolate brown colour, whereas the EL3301 was grey. The EL3300 was supplied with a genuine leather case, which was grey. Some of the EL3301 machines were also supplied with grey leather cases (until stock ran out), then they were black. Internally, the EL3300 was fitted with a motor that had an inbuilt electro/mechanical speed control. Later, the EL3301 machine was fitted with an electronic speed control circuit and the motor was a fixed speed unit. These are the major differences between them but many more internal changes were added to the EL3301 series throughout production.

Quote:
Yes, in the battery compartment, after lifting up the vinyl battery sheet there should be two labels. One white label, stuck to the motor housing, will have two markings printed on it. The EL3300 will show AH02 (Code for Holland) and further numbers for date of manufacture, such as 20/64 (20th Week 1964). Then, stuck in the area where the batteries fit, a black/white label on which the Model Number & Serial Number is printed. The EL3301 model will have a similar white label on the motor housing and, for example, will show something like: WR02 (Austria) and a date code, eg: 39/64 (39th Week 1964). A Model/Serial Number label will again will be in the battery chamber area Hope this helps.
