SAQ
Did anyone copy SAQ this morning?, seemed to be down on signal strength and then about 3 minutes into the transmission it went off..

Re: SAQ
Hello Tim,
Yes, I heard SAQ on 17kHz this morning with a signal report of 559 here in Bucks. Prior to the hand sent CW message there was a preamble of "VVV de SAQ" being sent for twenty minutes or more and then at 0800z the hand sent transmission started and lasted only about four minutes. I don't know if their signal was down on what would be expected as it was the first time I'd ever managed to have a reasonable VLF receive setup at the same time as not forgetting to listen. The receive setup was a Racal RA17 with RA37 LF Adaptor and a Wellbrook LF loop aerial. 73 Rupert |

Re: SAQ
Hi Rupert, this is a new QTH for me and somewhat further away from SAQ than the previous one where I had heard SAQ at 599. I must admit my antenna down here was marginal, just my 80M doublet with the feeder strapped into my HB upconverter into my IC 7610. I’ve got a PA0RDT mini whip but need to find the best position in the garden away from local noise sources.
