Hi all,

I have just 'won' one of these on eBay, one technical question, why is the IF at 365kHz not in the normal 465kHz regeion?

Possibly to give more gain as these sets operate at a fairly low HT voltage.

EMI did some strange things though.

These use a Plessey chassis so it's a little unfaair to accuse EMI of doing strange thins in this case.

That said I think that the chance to get a little more gain with low HT was the reason for the choice of a lower IF.

They are a nice little set and give a fairly good account of themselves considering their size.

She hs turned up, quite tatty but complete. Put in my B114 from the P17B and it worked, I only tried for a few seconds just in case. Given it's tattyness including a great big fag burn on the top I think it will be a fill, rub down, respray and new snakeskin job. What colour should I use, a girly pink, manly blue or something else?

What to do with this, the fag burn, it is quite deep. I need ivory epoxy filler if I am not going to spray paint it, any ideas?
