Marconiphone P20B
Hi all,
I have just 'won' one of these on eBay, one technical question, why is the IF at 365kHz not in the normal 465kHz regeion? MM |

Re: Marconiphone P20B
Possibly to give more gain as these sets operate at a fairly low HT voltage.
EMI did some strange things though. Leon. |

Re: Marconiphone P20B
These use a Plessey chassis so it's a little unfaair to accuse EMI of doing strange thins in this case.
That said I think that the chance to get a little more gain with low HT was the reason for the choice of a lower IF. They are a nice little set and give a fairly good account of themselves considering their size.

Re: Marconiphone P20B
She hs turned up, quite tatty but complete. Put in my B114 from the P17B and it worked, I only tried for a few seconds just in case. Given it's tattyness including a great big fag burn on the top I think it will be a fill, rub down, respray and new snakeskin job. What colour should I use, a girly pink, manly blue or something else?

What to do with this, the fag burn, it is quite deep. I need ivory epoxy filler if I am not going to spray paint it, any ideas?
