Default Hedghog Standards Converters

Ready made Hedghog Standards Converters available, please use the forum to PM or Email for prices.

(the spelling of Hedghog is intentional throughout)

Hedghog 1

Features:
Converts between aspect ratios of 4:3 => 4:3, 4:3 => 5:4, 16:9 => 4:3 and 16:9 => 5:4.
Pedestal (lifts black level 50 mV above blanking level)
Normal broad pulses or broad pulses with equalising pulses
Soft, medium and sharp interpolation apertures
Audio test tones of 400Hz and 1KHz
Test card and grey scale
13 Channel RF out covering Band l and lll (system A)
Composite video input
405 line video out (1VPP)

Requires 7.5 to 9 V DC at 250 mA (Not Supplied)

Hedghog 2 (special order only)

The Hedghog II has all the features of Hedghog with the following differences.
Single PCB.
The FPGA is changed
The DAC is changed from 9 bit to a 10 bit.
It can be used as a System A modulator.
The video out socket is moved to the back panel to make room for an additional toggle switch on the front.
Composite video input
Requires 7.5 to 9 V DC at 250 mA (Not Supplied)

405 to 625 line Option:
With optional firmware the 625 to 405 converter works as before with the substitution of the interpolation apertures switch, this now becomes the 625 to 405/405 to 625 switch.
In 405 to 625 mode the converted 625 video is available on the video out socket. The incoming 405 video is fed to the system A modulator so that it can be monitored on a 405 TV if required. (This option only works well with a perfectly stable 405 signal, most VCR equipment will NOT provide this).

Hedghog L
Features:
LCD Display
405/819 line standards converter combined with a stand-alone multi system programmable VHF/UHF modulator.
aspect ratio conversion 4:3 => 4:3, 4:3 => 5:4, 16:9 => 4:3, 16:9 => 5:4
Selectable equalising pulses when converting to 405 lines
405 line Test card
Composite video input
Requires 7.5 to 9 V DC at 250 mA (Not Supplied)

Special thanks to Frank Cuffe, whom without his hard work none of this would not be possible.
