Default BVWS Trader Sheet CD

Mine runs out at 0800. Others say they are reading from higher numbered sheets. What am I doing wrong?

TIA

There are 3 discs. The first one (orange label) is 1-800, the second (yellow) 801-1600 and the third (blue) 1601-1999. The third disc also has copies of 405 alive magazine.

Hi Dave,
there are 3 BVWS CD's with trader sheets, 0-800, 801-1600, and 1601-1900.

Pete

Beaten to it!

Ah right . I installed the cd and then quickly put it all safely away so it wouldn't be damaged. I must have only installed 1 cd. I'll go through the BVWS stuff to make sure I have the others.

Thanks

Unless the BVWS is pirating its own cd then yes as it came direct from them - lol. It is white and dated 1999 and stamped 'copyright ERT magazines'. It did seem a bit odd to me but there are no other cd's than these in the packet that came direct from BVWS. I wouldn't have got it when it was issued though as I only joined last year so maybe that is all they had at the time?

It is also marked 'Issued free with BVWS 1999 Christmas'

The first BVWS CD (Trader 1-800) had a high failure rate due to poor pressing. This was discovered after a number of complaints. As a result it has always been in short supply. I believe that a number of extra copies were made using CDR. This may account for 2 different versions.

Ahhh, should I have got all three in the new members pack I received after joining at Harpenden? I've cussed the lack of anything over 1600 a few times already.

That is correct. I am making them in batches of 100 for them when needed (about five batches so far). I have done a batch of another one too so they will be coming out on white disks now too.

Once the stocks of the other CDs also run down we will probably do a DVD-R of the content of all four, because it is cheaper and quicker than making four CDs.

Should have got 4 I think. The fourth contains the first 20 years of BVWS bulletins as PDFs. Contact Graham (membership secretary) if you are missing any.

Only by joining the BVWS, you get a set when you join. £25 per year. A bargain.

I'm a member. Have been for more than a quarter of a century (sounds better than "25 years!")

In that case you should have them, they were sent out with the Bulletins when they were first produced. Contact the membership secretary if you think you never received them.

You would have received them with the Christmas bulletins over from 1999 to 2002.

Thanks Paul, they do look familiar in that photo. I'll dig 'em out!

That's it: I'm joining!

Their web-site doesn't make this clear and I'd wondered if they were Christmas presents to members so if you weren't a member that year you wouldn't get that disc.

I'd been thinking of contacting Jeffrey about it but this has saved my needing to and is having to reply.

I haven't joined before as £25 for just the Bulletin didn't seem like very good value to me as I can't get to events so wouldn't get anything out of those. Perhaps they'd get more members if the benefits were made clearer.

All the best
- Joe

Given the exceptional quality and content of the Bulletin, I think it's very good value indeed. I also belong to the GLPGS, THG and RSGB. I enjoy them all, but the BVWS publication is far and away the best.

I also have one containing "405 Alive" from 1989 to 2001.

I notice in the latest bulletin (in response to a question from the floor at the 2011 AGM) that publishing the Bulletin archive on DVD is being considered for 2012 - presumably incorporating the contents of the CD mentioned by Paul.
