Receiver Radio 24A M U R. any info - UK Vintage Radio Repair and Restoration Discussion Forum

I have been asked to find information for the above receiver. Friend has no internet, so no photo but a control knob shows the following functions. From anticlockwise, " off, batt V, batt check, DC, check noise, measure noise, low sense ". Set covers 100 to 220 MHz and has eleven valves and Murata coils inside. I hope I have this information correct, as it was over our 80m qso. I searched this forum and the internet but didn't find it.

Bill, thank you for your time, having a look.
Lawrence, well done, you must have other ways of doing things.
So, I spoke with Fred this morning and he is pleased with how far we have been able to go. He is currently building a power unit to fit into the battery compartment. My thinking is that it is from Eddystone but does not show up on their forum site.

Not made by Eddystone but might have been the predecessor of the Eddystone 31A which was made by Eddystone under licence from the Post Office. Hatfield Instruments made a similar measurement receiver for PO under licence, but for HF, which is often confused as Eddystone. Chris G0EYO

Hello Chris, Thank you for the comment. Yes, does not seem to be Eddystone and nothing showing up for Hatfield, that I can find. The front plate shows M U R. which neither he nor I can understand. It's that single dot. Oh, and yes he has an Eddystone 31A as well.

I notice Ben Nock G4BXD has one of the radios shown in the article at his military museum in Kidderminster which he was unable to identify a few years back. Photos are on the Eddystone groups.io forum. Chris G0EYO.
