Default Blore Edwards - Prices

I recently had cause to contact Blore Edwards Limited regarding a 470k log pot for a Bush DAC90A. I received a holding email apologising for any delay but in the interim another email arrived from Brett Cryer regarding their current FLASH SALE.

So I followed the links and logged into their Online Shop but the first thing that greets you is this announcement:-

'Due to changing tax laws from 1st July there is now a minimum order value of £150.00 on all shop orders. We are sorry for this change, but the situation is beyond our control. Prices exclude VAT and carriage.'

Just thought I'd share this.

That is nonsense. There was a rule introduced on 1st July regarding B2C (business to customer) on shipments to EU countries. That relates to Euro150.

But there is absolutely no rule on selling to customers in the UK.

Just talked to Blore Edwards, and the guy confirmed that satement was indeed intended specifically for EU customers, and was not relevant to UK customers.

The website will be changed to say this in the next five minutes.

Hi

"Due to changing tax laws from 1st July there is now a minimum order value of EURO 150.00 on all shop orders to the EU"

Since you are in Glasgow, which is not in the EU (yet...) you should be fine.

That was quick! The Blore Edwards site now says

"Due to changing tax laws from 1st July there is now a minimum order value of EURO 150.00 on all shop orders to the EU. Prices exclude VAT and carriage."

Well done Craig - very impressive!

Now if you could get me a response to my DAC90A pot enquiry ...

Very good to see that after making contact, that they switched this over on their website.

I also emailed them yesterday and got a note of thanks for spotting this error!
Their "flash sale" is on Friday 5th Nov (only). Looks like 10% off everything. They are my go-to source for weird pots for restorations (1M antilog for instance).
Apparently you just use the voucher code "BOOM"!
