Tandberg 62 Series.
Hello all,
i repair Hi-Fi's for a living and at work we have in for repair a Tandberg 62 Series reel to reel recorder. All seems to be working, just, but the pinch roller is very badly perished. Does anyone here know if these are available anywhere (not very likely i know) or more likely, does anyone have any 2nd hand ones in reasonable condition for sale? Also, after playing with this one, it produces a really great sound (those EL84's do sound nice i know!) so if anyone has one of these (or the 64 series which i believe is very similar) in need of a good home then please let me know, via PM if you want. All the best to everyone, Perc. |

If you do eventually find one I have a lot of information on the 64 here - circuit diagrams, user manual, service manual, Hi-Fi magazine articles/tests. If you want copies, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Sam

Re: Tandberg 62 Series.
Thanks Sam, if i manage to aquire one i'll definately take you up on the offer.
The unit i'm working on has been supplied to us with the original purchase receipt, owners manual and service manual with two updates for circuit changes included. Even if we don't get it going, i would think the customer will want the set back along with all material! Oh well never mind, i'll keep looking. Get yours back out of "retirement"! Use it or it'll deteriorate and then you won't be able to! It sounds so much better than any recording medium available today. Thanks again, Perc. P.S. Don't want to be accused of going off topic, but, looked at your web-site, does electronics and steam usually go together. I volunteer at Crofton. www.croftonbeamengines.org !!
