Default Sanyo G-2615N-2 Portable M/Centre Unusual fault

I have owned this for some years. And this strange fault has developed. The right speaker is perfect when using the record player or radio. But when I play the cassette there is a minimum of noise coming out of the right speaker. The left speaker is perfect.Any easy fix ideas please? Also the tapes played are not mono😁

Can we first estabish that AT ALL TIMES there is good sound from the LH speaker? If so, it's possible that the cassette heads need cleaning.

Off the top of my head (pun unintentional) it could be (at least)

Dirty cassette record/playback head

Bad connection to that head, the wires move every time you press play as the heads move into the cassette so the wires can break

Electronic fault on the PCB on the bottom of the cassette mechanism which contains the record/playback amplifier

Bad connection to this PCB at the edge connector

Bad contact at the radio/phono/tape switch.

My money is on the head wiring. 2/2 units that I have looked at have had this problem, well that plus a bad mode switch!

Try cleaning the record playback switch. Common problem I have seen.
