Re: Triang Children's Record Player
For the mounting, a variation on this:

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
If you prefer to glue it you could always use hot-melt glue if you have a suitable glue gun. It's strong enough but can be removed at a later date and won't do any harm.
Anyway, you're a little way away from this so let's get it going first! Invest in a PP9 battery and get ready to wire the amplifier up. Did you get any capacitors? If not let us know the values printed on them (the white tubular jobs) - I see a 50uF one. They will have a value (such as the 50uF mentioned) and a voltage - possibly 12v. Let us know what they are and I'm sure one of us will have some - very much smaller, but that's progress! Easier to replace them while it's in bits. Let us know where you've got to. Glyn |

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
I do indeed have a glue gun, so should work. I also have a ton of 9V/PP9 batteries so that shouldn't be a problem. Here's the uF and voltages from the white capacitors:
50 uF 12VDC 10uF 6VDC Those appear to be the only two differen't ones. Progress wise, the only thing I've done is test the turntable which does indeed work. |

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
I have used a few of those red and black cartridges and they sound very good, I use hot glue to secure them in place , I find its strong enough for normal use yet can be easily peeled off if needed.

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
Sorry, didn't see this post. If possible some photos showing the wiring would be nice, and yes I'm still working on it.

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
In post #2 you were given a link to another thread for information on your player.
In post #10 I advised you to read through the thread linked to in post #2. The thread linked to would have answered just about all the questions you have subsequently been asking. You have either inadvertently or deliberately ignored that particular piece of advice! |

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
You say that a new Stylus has just arrived, but in an earlier Post you said you had ordered a cartridge - which is it?

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
Now you have a new cartridge you should test to see if the amplifier/speaker are working. If you gently touch the cartridge you should hear a "rustling" noise in the speaker. If nothing, then the amplifier will need to be checked next.

Re: Triang Children's Record Player
But nothing is wired up, so would I need to connect the speaker to the mainboard or whatever it is before I can do that?
