Herald RP37 vs RP37A - whats the difference?
Hi All,
I have two nice black Herald RP37s but one is a RP37A. Can anyone tell me the differences? thanks Jim G7NKS

Re: Herald RP37 vs RP37A - whats the difference?
Hello Jim,
You may find there are other circuit differences - Hacker frequently made changes and most of the time they weren't accompanied by a different model number - but the basic difference between the RP37 and 37A is in the tuner head. The early model is fitted with an aluminium cased T304 tuner, the A version with the T309 which has a transparent plastic casing. Paul |

Re: Herald RP37 vs RP37A - whats the difference?
Hi Paul, is there any value/use in me noting all the S/Ns of my sets and posting them in the hacker and roberts groups? If so I will get on to it. Who should I send them to?
cheers Jim G7NKS

Re: Herald RP37 vs RP37A - whats the difference?
Hi Jim,
They'll certainly be welcome, as helping to make up the picture of how many of each model were made and when, with some idea of how many are still around, and the various changes that were introduced during production. Just send them to me, with model number and colour and any odd features, date markings etc. Can't give my e-mail address here as it's not allowed, but you'll find it at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hackerradiogroup/database . Best regards, Paul |

Re: Herald RP37 vs RP37A - whats the difference?
Why didn't I think of that? Yes, Hacker, Roberts and even Dynatron serial numbers are always welcome from anyone here, whether or not they're interested in joining the groups (though with a current Hacker membership roll of 155 it seems likely that most forum members with Hackers around have done so )
The RP37 became the RP37A somewhere between nos. 15534 and 16050, so if any gap was left at all in the number sequence it was a small one. Paul Last edited by Paul_RK; 4th Aug 2007 at 11:53 am. |

And '37s had a Goodmans speaker, 37As either the Celestion or, after about 1971ish I think, that Elac with the huge magnet!
