Cossor 77B - replacing tuning drive cord
Having done quite a lot of work on this set, it is almost working properly.
I decided to replace the drive cord as it was a bit frayed but would like to know if anyone can tell me how to get the cord to sit and stay in the grooves on the tuning drum whilst threading it round the path. There are a couple of Cossor models that use the same chassis but none of the service sheets for these on the DVD have any details on fitting the drive cord. If anyone has details from a different service sheet, or any good ideas on how to do it, I would pleased to hear about it. Thanks. Alf |

Masking tape makes it easy.

I use a wide elastic band.

I tend to use masking tape as well. I wonder how they did this during manufacturing?

Thanks for your replies.
That is a good question Gary, how did they do it during manufacture. I am pleased to say that I did using the elastic band method. It was a bit fiddly but it has been successful. Cheers, Alf |
