Cossor CR1301T
Hi everyone,
I've been given a Cossor Type CR13 all transistor radio. I've no idea if it's functional as there's no power cable. So I'm kinda stuck. Would it be possible to manufacture a replacement? Many thanks |

Re: Cossor SR13
Neither of those model numbers appear to be correct, I think you're missing a couple of digits, e.g. CR13xx

Re: Cossor SR13
The Model number is almost certainly starting with CR Cossor Radio.
But when this numbering system was started Cossor had sold its domestic division to Philips, There are quite a few Cossor sets starting with CR13 I can't think of any off hand that had a mains supply built in thet were all battery sets. Could be wrong as I don't really collect Cossor sets this late. A picture or two would help! Cheers Mike T

Re: Cossor SR13
I've managed to find the model number from the bottom of the unit and it's a Cossor CR1301T, and yes you're right, it appears to be battery powered. I'm not sure how to remove the rear compartment though?

Re: Cossor CR1301T
There should be a cloth tab at the bottom of the back panel, but it's probably torn off. Mine has. Lever the bottom out, it has spring catches each side.

Re: Cossor CR1301T
I have half a dozen of these.
There is supposed to be a pull tag at the middle of the bottom of the back its almost always missing. Take a blunt flat bladed knife ( table knife) And gently slip it into the middle of the back at the bottom. Lever it outwards the back will pop open. The set takes a single PP9 battery they nearly always just work. Nice set Crossed with AC/HL Cheers Mike T

Re: Cossor CR1301T
That's brilliant guys thank you, yes the tab was missing. I've gently taken off the back and thankfully there's no old battery leaking in there, so the terminals are nice and clean.
Hopefully just need a new battery |

Re: Cossor CR1301T
Philips used that internal chassis for lots of Philips / Stella / Cossor sets at the time. As has been said, they generally Just Work if you connect a battery, though the wavechange switch may need a good clean with Servisol contact cleaner (available from Maplins or online).
