Default Blaupunkt Bremen RCM127 - Cassette Player

Hi there,

This is my first post in this forum, happy to be here!

The above car radio is fully functional, except for a problem with the cassette player.

I am going to better describe the problem and, at the same time, I am providing you with the links to the the user manual and the schematics:

When I want to insert a tape, I press the front panel button to open it, insert the tape which is automatically transported to the playback position.
Normally the front panel should close again and the tape start to play.

Instead what happens is that the front panel does not close and therefore the player does not start.
Even if you press the button to close the front panel, nothing happens.
Only by pressing the on/off switch of the radio, the front panel closes and the radio will switch off.

If I do not insert any tape, the front panel opens/closes without any issues by pressing its open/close button.

I removed the cassette player mechanism from the radio and it does not look like there is any mechanical anomaly.

Would you be able to help me from here?

Here-below a couple of images of the cassette mechanism.

Thank you!

Hi,

I have an additional picture of the slider in the cassette mechanism:

If I load the tape and move the slider to the 'K' position, switch the radio on, the slider slides to the "P" and the tape plays.
Any other 'letter' will trigger the front panel to open and freeze.

Does anybody know what those letters stand for?
I can only assume the two obvious below:
ED = Eject
P= Play

How about the others?

Thank you,
Alex
