PX25 Valve
I have one of these PX25 valves, and it has been tested. It draws 32mA which is 60% of an as new valve, this is caused by the inner filament pair being snapped. I am advised it would work in a radio but would not be good enough for Hi Fi.
I would appreciate any input/comments. Regards, Kevin. |

Re: PX25 Valve
Depends how much power you need, I would think it should give about half its rated power. As you say probably OK in a single ended radio but not as half a push pull pair.

Re: PX25 Valve
An audiophool would love that, its a unique low energy version with segmented heater.

Re: PX25 Valve
Hello,
As it is directly heated, if the filament has actually broken within the valve, then there is the possibility that it could touch the grid (say if it was knocked etc.) which could remove most of the bias on the grid with possible unfortunate consequences. Yours, Richard |
