Default Beogram 1000 amp compatibility.

Hi all.
I'm finally thinking of expanding my B and O set up. Currently I'm running my Beogram 1000 through a very cheap electrovision pre amp. I have found a Beogram 2600 amp and tuner. Will this be good enough to do away with my preamp and cope with the tiny output signal from my Beogram 1000? Are these amps/ tuner ok and what should I be looking out for?
Many thanks.
Dave.

The Phono stage on the B&O 2600 has a RIAA equalised MM pre-amp in-built. This will be ideal to serve your Beogram 1000. No need for an external pre-amp.

I can't see why not as the 2600 has the usual magnetic cartridge input.

No more to say.

I like this idea as I get the tuner and tape player too. Many thanks.

Sorry Edward, I took too long to compose my reply and you got in first with the same answer!

Remember that B&O designed their amps around 4 Ohm speakers, So you'll be a bit down on their advertised power if you have 8 Ohm ones. Shouldn't be too noticeable.

I was going to also purchase some Beovox speakers of the same era. This means everything will be compatible and will be a nice little period set up. If I get the correct speakers I will achieve max performance. If anyone can suggest some nice B and O matching speakers? The amp is rated at 2x25 watt.

Now the proud owner of the Beocenter 2600. Will let you know when it arrives. The rabbit ear aerial needs a repair. Wires have broken free out of the two pin connector. Looks though there is option for a normal coax too though.
