Christmas reading material
The latest BVWS Bulletin (complete with a DVD containing four films) and the latest Radiophile both dropped through our letter box this morning. So plenty to read over Christmas..... if I have any time! From a quick flick through they both look like they contain plenty of interest.
The BVWS Bulletin included the events list for 2008, so I'll get those on the BVWS website and in the forum calendar today. |

Re: Christmas reading material
I guess you've been lucky, Paul. Radiophile arrived today, but no sign of the Bulletin. I will just have to wait until after Christmas now (sob)

Re: Christmas reading material
The BVWS subs are due now (they run 1st Jan to 31st Dec) and are on this page of the BVWS website together with the membership form and other info, currently £25 per year. You can pay by credit card over the phone, though Graham probably wouldn't appreciate calls over the holiday.
Radiophile subs are for one year (4 issues) and cost £20 per year. Cheques payable to "Radiophile" to Radiophile, Larkhill, Newport Road, Woodseaves, Stafford, ST20 0NP. |

Re: Christmas reading material
Yes, I was pleased to see the Bulletin come through the letterbox this morning.
That and the winter edition of the Parson Woodforde Society (history of an even older vintage) should keep me entertained over the festive season. Regards,

Re: Christmas reading material
The note with Radiophile said he's getting a franking machine too. I hope he has looked into the cost of getting it updated when the postal rates change, and of consumables...
It's good news that you can renew by phone and credit card though. Is he charging extra for that facility? The BVWS do because of the processing fees. |

Re: Christmas reading material
Thought if paying by debit not credit card that nobody should get charged?

Re: Christmas reading material
I got my reading material today too, firstly The Bulletin closely followed by the paper copy of the new Television and consumer electronics magazine, and what a great read they are too.

Re: Christmas reading material
My Bulletin has arrived
Apparently posted from SE27 on 20/12/07, it arrived at my workplace in OX11 today. A distance of 72 miles (according to the AA Route Planner) and a transit time of 13 days equates to a staggering 0.23 miles per hour. Not quite "snail mail" though... Wikipedia assures me that a garden snail would have taken about 7 times as long to deliver it Some very interesting content as usual - much of it from forum members - and definitely worth the wait. Re: Christmas reading material
So mine, which took 8 days to travel 5 miles (0.026 mph) would have been quicker by snail?
But worth waiting for it and the dvd. Edward |
