602 does the job ok on some radios. Have a Norcal 40A here and that is an excellent little receiver. Even uses a 602 as the RX mix front end.

FT-818 here. No 602s in it. Receiver on it is quite good with a Collins filter. Much better than the DSP IF on my shack rig which sounds like someone drunk inside a bin.
