Default Moving Iron Meter Calibration

Is it likely that a moving iron voltmeter (0 - 250v), intended for use at 400Hz, will measure accurately at higher frequencies, up to 1600Hz?

I'm not sure what affects the calibration of a moving iron meter!

Many thanks,

Andy

Thickness of any laminations..... impedance of coil.....

I would expect it to read low if anything.

Sounds like time for a trial with a sig gen and 'scope to see what happens.

They're definitely frequency-sensitive. And profoundly waveform-purity-sensitive too: you don't want to trust them to read accurately if fed from a "modified-sinewave" power-inverter/UPS or if wired across a circuit where the power-factor is significantly off from unity.

Thanks for the replies..................even if they don't give the answer I was hoping for!
I shall have to think again.
