Problems uploading photos
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I can no longer just upload large photo files (4Mb) for attachment and let the forum software shrink them for me.
Has this facility changed? I am happy to shrink files if required but it was a useful feature, not available in other vintage radio forums. Any advice? Many thanks Jeremy

Re: Problems uploading photos
I have re-read the sticky on posting photos, and perhaps the timeout value has changed a bit as that is what's happening to me.
I think I have pretty much answered my own question, so do delete this post if you wish. All the best and thanks Jeremy

Re: Problems uploading photos
This began life as a 3.8M image and was loaded without resizing. I had no problems.

Re: Problems uploading photos
Aha - interesting. Mine are 4.5Mb and the upload times out. Maybe just a little too long an upload time from my end before the process can start. In other words it's my upload speed that's causing the problems, although upload is is normally about 1Mb/s from here.
But I have just tried shrinking them to about 150Kbyte each but am still getting a timeout - strange. The only thing that's changed at this end recently is an upgrade to Windows 10. Maybe that's it. However, I just tried uploading the same pictures to the Golborn forum as an experiment and it worked fine. Hmm... is something set differently in my account? Jeremy

Re: Problems uploading photos
I'm not aware of anything being changed recently. It's almost certainly something at your end. Attachment settings are the same for all users.
4.5MB is a big upload so I can imagine potential timeout problems, but this shouldn't happen for smaller uploads. |

Re: Problems uploading photos
Update. It has started working now - I can upload small files fine one at a time but large (4Mb files) or multiple small files still fail.

Re: Problems uploading photos
I had to reboot my router a couple of times after that outage earlier in the week.
The speed was awful until I did that. It is back up to my normal country 400K now. |
