Default Trio Kenwood TS830S cathode resistors.

hi
on the finals board,
wat happens if replacing the four 20ohm resistors with 22 ohm ones
the four 20 ohms in parallel =5 ohm
the four 22 ohms= 5,5 ohms
they act as fuse, is the metering not correct anymore?

Hi the metering will not be correct. you could use 2x 10 ohm double the wattage non inductive type Mick

If using 'preferred values', then replacing the specified 4 x 20-ohm resistors with 2 x 22 plus 2 x 18 would give the same result (i.e. 10 ohms). That's what I did with the original badly singed cathode resistors in my TS830 and it has worked OK for several years.

Two 22 and two 18 all in parallel 4.95 Ohms. all standard values.

Don't forget that these four resistors are 'fuses of last resort' and that their wattage ratings should be as original.
