Trio Kenwood TS830S cathode resistors.
hi
on the finals board, wat happens if replacing the four 20ohm resistors with 22 ohm ones the four 20 ohms in parallel =5 ohm the four 22 ohms= 5,5 ohms they act as fuse, is the metering not correct anymore? carlos on6cn |

Re: ts830s cathode resistors
Hi the metering will not be correct. you could use 2x 10 ohm double the wattage non inductive type Mick

Re: ts830s cathode resistors
If using 'preferred values', then replacing the specified 4 x 20-ohm resistors with 2 x 22 plus 2 x 18 would give the same result (i.e. 10 ohms). That's what I did with the original badly singed cathode resistors in my TS830 and it has worked OK for several years.

Re: ts830s cathode resistors
Two 22 and two 18 all in parallel 4.95 Ohms. all standard values.
