If I cant find one in my box of resistors / cant be arsed, I simply order more on ebay!
I joke but this was how I did things in lieue of deciding on a sorting method, which I now have and am implementing into a small component draw unit. I used to spend more time assembling the components for a project than building the damn thing! |

G3ROO showed me how to do it.
Using a wobble-mounted blade in a bench circular saw to create4mm slots half-way through strips of plywood, the strips can be assembled by slotting together to make a matrix. Each cell in the matrix was sized to take a 35mm film pot. A large tray was made with a wooden wall around the outer, and the matrix fits exactly inside. Mine takes several hundred film pots, and just slides under a single bed in my spare room. The film pots came free from a local newspaper back in the days of silver-based photography. I've got all my small resistors and small capacitors filed as one value per pot and still have space for semiconductors. David
